Many members ask if they can bring their furry friends with them on vacation. Unfortunately, the answer is no.
This is not an issue of resorts being "anti-pet," but they must consider their human guests first. Allergic diseases affect more than 20 percent of the U.S. population, many of whom suffer from indoor allergens--one of the most common of which is pet dander. Since pet dander can remain in carpeting and bedding for years, one visit by a furry or even feathered pet can affect countless allergic guests, even if the resort does a thorough cleaning.
Prior to confirming a vacation, you can contact the resort or the destination's local chamber of commerce to determine the closest kennel. While your furry friend may not be able to stay at the resort with you, they can still go to a resort of their own and spend some time with you during the day.
