GlobalGo Travel Insurance* is a travel protection provider that helps travelers protect
their trips from unexpected events. Through its partnership with Armed Forces Vacation
Club, GlobalGo offers travel insurance plans designed to provide peace of mind before
and during travel.
What is travel insurance?
Travel insurance provides coverage for unforeseen events that can affect your travel plans. It protects from financial losses due to life’s unexpected curveballs. This includes, but is not limited to: Trip Cancellations, Medical Emergencies, Evacuation Coverage, Trip Delays, and Lost/Delayed Baggage.
Coverage typically begins the date after purchase for trip cancellation coverage,
and all other coverages start once you have departed on your trip.
Coverage typically ends when the policyholder lands at their return destination.
What are the key benefits of the travel insurance plan?
The plan includes coverage for pre-departure trip cancellation, post-departure trip
interruption, travel delay, baggage and personal effects, baggage delay, missed connection
for air and cruises, emergency evacuation and repatriation, emergency medical expense,
emergency dental expense, and accidental death and dismemberment benefits. Coverage
is subject to policy terms, conditions, limitations, and exclusions.
What is the maximum trip cost amount eligible for coverage?
The pre-departure trip cancellation benefit is up to 100% of trip cost, subject to
a maximum of $100,000 per trip. Trip cost must meet the policy definition and be shown
on the confirmation or application as required.
If my baggage is lost, will the travel insurance plan offer any coverage?
The baggage and personal effects benefit may reimburse direct loss, theft, damage,
or destruction of baggage during the covered trip, subject to limits, valuation rules,
duties after loss, and exclusions. The maximum is $1,000, with a $500 per item limit
and special limitations for certain items.
What is the pre-existing condition lookback?
The policy uses a 90-day lookback period immediately before plan payment for specified
treatment, testing, examination, or medication activity involving the insured, traveling
companion, or family member scheduled or booked to travel.
I have 'XYZ', a pre-existing medical condition, how will the policy help me if I need
to cancel?
The pre-existing condition exclusion waiver may apply if premium is received within
14 days of your initial trip payment. Your insurance agent should handle specific
waiver questions.
What is the difference between trip cancellation and trip interruption?
Trip cancellation applies before departure when a covered reason prevents the insured
from taking the trip. Trip interruption applies after departure or when arrival is
delayed and may reimburse certain unused prepaid costs and additional transportation
expenses.
How do trip cancellation and trip interruption work?
Trip cancellation may reimburse prepaid, non-refundable trip costs if the insured is prevented from
taking the covered trip due to a covered reason that occurs before departure and while
coverage is in effect. The maximum is up to 100% of trip cost, with a $100,000 maximum
per trip.
Trip interruption may reimburse unused prepaid trip costs and certain additional transportation expenses
if the insured is delayed or unable to continue the covered trip after departure due
to covered reasons. The maximum is up to 150% of trip cost, with a $150,000 maximum
per insured.
Is the travel insurance plan primary or secondary?
The insurance provided by the travel insurance plan, except international travel medical
expense, is excess of all other valid and collectible insurance.
Are there any notable exclusions in the travel insurance plan?
In addition to any applicable coverage‐specific exclusions, the following exclusions apply to all losses and all coverages. This plan does not cover loss caused by or resulting from: intentionally self-inflicted injury, suicide, or attempted suicide while sane or insane; war (whether declared or not) or act of war, participation in a civil disorder, riot, insurrection or unrest; being under the influence of drugs or narcotics, unless administered upon the advice of a physician as prescribed; intoxication above the legal limit at the time of loss; commission or the attempt to commit a criminal act; participation in or loss due to dangerous activities; directly or indirectly, the actual, alleged or threatened discharge, dispersal, seepage, migration, escape, release or exposure to any hazardous biological, chemical, nuclear radioactive material, gas, matter or contamination; participation in civil disorder, riot or a felony; any loss or expense incurred as the result of a pre‐existing medical condition.
The pre‐existing medical condition exclusion is waivable if the following conditions are met:
- The option is purchased within fifteen (15) days of initial trip payment;
- All insureds are medically able to travel when this option cost is paid.
Please contact your agent for information and an opportunity to learn more about the
preexisting condition exclusions.
If I'm delayed, will the travel insurance plan provide any kind of coverage?
The travel delay benefit may reimburse reasonable additional lodging, meals, telephone
calls, and local transportation if the covered trip is delayed for 6 consecutive hours
or more due to covered causes. The maximum is $1,000, subject to $200 per day.
How can I purchase the travel insurance plan?
You can purchase the travel insurance plan at least 1 day prior to your departure
date. The plan may be purchased through https://goreadyinsurance.com/partners/afvc/gg/single-trip.
What if I purchase and then decide I do not want it?
The plan includes a 14-day right to examine coverage after receipt. If the insured
is not satisfied, the policy may be returned within that period, provided the insured
has not yet departed on the covered trip and has not incurred a covered loss. Please
contact your insurance agent to cancel your policy. State-specific rules may vary.
What if I book additional travel outside of Armed Forces Vacation Club?
The plan may allow certain related outside arrangements to be insured if the appropriate
trip cost is included and plan rules are met. Your insurance agent can assist you
with any additional questions.
How do I file a claim?
To file a claim, contact your claims administrator. The confirmation of coverage contains
the claim administration contact information. Written notice of a covered loss should
be provided within 90 days of the covered loss or as soon as reasonably possible.
Proof of loss requirements are described in the policy.
What should I do if I need assistance during the trip?

covered trip. While traveling, one toll-free call gives you access to a variety of
