It is set on the shores of a reservoir in the Peneda Geres National Park in the lakes and mountains of northern Portugal. This is a region of spectacular scenery, best enjoyed by car. BY AIR: Nearest airport, Porto - 80kms. BY ROAD: From the airport follow the signs to highway A3 (Porto/Valen A), then turn off at Celeiros (Braga). In Braga follow signs to Chaves(N103). Continue for 30kms, in Cerdeirinhas,just after the petrol station (GALP), bear left to Rio Caldo E Geres. Go down the hill near Albufeira Da Barragem Da Canicada.
