Overview
Our unique resort is set on 70 acres of beautiful parkland, overlooking the stunning vista of Rutland Water, the largest man-made area of surface water in the UK. We offer plenty to do on-site with our Pitch & Putt Green, a crazy golf course, gym, and squash court. Our swimming pool is temporarily closed while improvements and refurbishments take place. Our new Four Roots Spa is opening soon and will offer a curated four-hour wellness experience. We are fortunate to be located in the heart of Rutland, the UK’s smallest county. Local attractions offer the opportunity to experience the 11th-century Belvoir Castle & Engine Yard, the ancestral home of the Duke of Rutland for nearly 1,000 years, or visit the nearby historic market towns of Oakham & Uppingham. If you are drawn to the water, you can enjoy a trip on the Rutland Belle, or indulge in some sailing, paddleboarding, fishing, and more.

Barnsdale Hall Hotel mixes the old with the new. The bedrooms at Barnsdale range from simple rooms sleeping two to a magnificent 3-bedroom lodges that sleeps up to 8 people. Each room is individually designed, and some offer spectacular views of Rutland Water. Honeymoon suites are designed with lovers in mind, with romantic design and privacy. There are tea and coffee making facilities in each bedroom, toiletries and iron/ironing board. Cribs and Z-beds can be provided in most rooms for children.

BY AIR: East Midlands - 45 miles, Birmingham - 65 miles, Heathrow - 125m. BY CAR: From Birmingham, head for M1 southbound. Exit at junction 21 & follow the Leicester ring road & signs for A47. Take the A47 to Uppingham & turn left for A6003 towards Oakham. At roundabout take A606 for Stamford. Barnsdale is 3 miles along on the right, signposted as 'BARNSDALE HALL HOTEL'. LONDON HEATHROW: Take the M25 clockwise to junction 23, turning off onto th A1(M). Keep on this road (it becomes the A1) as far as Stamford. Take the A606 off the A1 signed Oakham/ Rutland Water. Continue through villages of Empingham and Whitwell Barnsdale is 1 mile further on the left.

Other Information
The swimming pool must be booked at least one week in advance. Please contact the leisure department to make a reservation. The sauna, steam room, and hot tub are unavailable until further notice.

Please be aware resort check-in dates during Christmas and New Year are always 12/23 and 12/30.Bookings must be 7,14 or 21 nights, incorrect bookings will be cancelled.
Please be aware that guests who book multiple weeks may be assigned a different unit number for the second week by RCI. RCI cannot guarantee keeping guests in the same unit for both weeks. All allocations are done through RCI. All attempts will be made by the resort to avoid this but this is not always possible.
Please note that there are different types of units available. Units 1-11 are Cottemore Lodges, units 12, 12A, 18-28 are Burley Lodges, units 14-17 & 31 are Exton Lodges, units 29 & 30 are Manton Lodges, units 32-34 are Garden View Apartments, units 61, 63-65 are Main Hall Apartments, units 44, 45 & 49 are Penthouse Apartments, and units 54-57 & 74-77 are Stable Mews Apartments.
Indoor pool will be closed from September 2, 2024 to December 31, 2027.
