Directions from Major Airport to Resort The nearest major airport is in Asheville, 65 miles away. Take I-40 West or I-26 West towards Asheville. Take 19E toward Burnsville. Travel through Burnsville and continue four miles east of town, at stoplight, turn right to State Road 80 South and turn right. Continue 12 miles. Turn right onto South Toe River Road. Continue .5 mile and turn right onto Sweetwater Ridge Road. Follow signs to Alpine Village. From I-40 East, follow to 221 North Marion bypass. Take 70 West one mile, then take Hwy 80 North for 16 miles to South Toe River Rd. Turn left onto South Toe River Rd. Follow one mile. Turn right onto Sweetwater Ridge Road. From Sweetwater Ridge Road, cross the bridge, veer right and follow signs to Alpine Village.
