If you want to see even more of the town, take the 2.1 mile ride on the Gatlinburg Sky Lift, running from Downtown all the way to the Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park. Pigeon Forge is best known for being the home of Dollywood, the Appalachian theme park owned by legendary country music entertainer Dolly Parton. The 130 acre Dollywood consists of rides, a waterpark, live music shows, and a museum of Dolly Parton’s most famous costumes and memorabilia. Dollywood aside, Pigeon Forge, like the neighboring Gatlinburg, is beautifully positioned in the heart of the Smoky Mountains and allows travelers the opportunity for a cozy retreat.
